Bike Ride
Ride to Jackey’s Marsh Forest Festival
Departing Deloraine Train Park at 2pm on Friday 5 February, 2010
The aim is to have a fun time while promoting low carbon footprint transport and healthy lifestyle activities and choices.
The ride will be at a leisurely pace, taking about two hours and including a short rest stop at Meander. The distance is approximately 20km, mostly flat tarmac, with one decent hill after Meander and some gravel road.
Fancy dress is encouraged but not compulsory, your decorations need to be secure and not interfere with your safety or comfort.
Important information
Please ensure your bike is well maintained, and carry a spare tube. Wear a helmet and carry a drink bottle.
Nice to have extras – sunscreen, sunglasses, banana, lollies, hydration pack and compact spray jacket in case of rain.
We will have a small car and trailer that you can put some camping gear in at the Train Park if you need. Room is limited so contact in advance.
Depending upon interest, a group may depart Launceston at 11am and have lunch at Deloraine before riding onto Jackey’s Mash with the main group at 2pm. Also depending upon interest a Saturday morning ride may leave the Train Park at 10am

Participants in this ride do so entirely at their own risk. The Forest Festival committee and volunteers accept no responsibility for your personal safety or any property loss or damage. Riders under 18 years old must have parental or guardian permission. Riders under 14 years old must have adult accompaniment.
