General Information
The festival site is located in the valley of Jackeys Marsh, 16kms from the township of Deloraine and approximately 50 minutes by bus or car from Launceston and Devonport.

Cycling
Get into the spirit of sustainable living at the festival and be in one of the two groups of cyclists to travel out together. The first group of riders will leave Deloraine on Friday 5th February at 2pm, and a second group will leave on Saturday 6th February at 10am. If you would like to be part of the ‘ride to the festival’ please contact us to register your interest.
Access to Festival
Gates will open for patrons @ 2pm Friday 5th February.
For security reasons there will be no access to the Festival after 10pm Friday & Saturday and before 8.30 am Saturday & Sunday.
Market Stalls
The very bright and colorful market place will be a place to gather, buy local produce and gifts, check out environmentally sustainable products and displays and all sorts of other wonders.
Continuing in our aim of being Sustainable the Jackeys Marsh Forest Festival is very keen to promote Tasmanian creativity, environmentally friendly businesses, stalls, produce and all community groups. Click here to apply for a stall site
Information
An information tent will be centrally located, where information on all aspects of the festival will be available including bookings for walks and workshops. Some workshops have limited space so please check with the information tent if you wish to book a particular activity.
Walks
As well as the programme of guided walks, there are a variety of marked walking tracks leading from the festival site. If you intend to take yourself on a walk please register your intention at the information tent and remember to sign off when you come back.
Camping
A large camping ground along the banks of Jackeys Creek is available for people staying overnight. Two different areas are designated for different needs, one for party animals and one for early risers and families. Volunteer marshals will direct you to the most suitable site. Toilet and washing facilities are spread throughout the camp ground but there are no showers on site.
Fire Safety
- No Open fires in camping areas
- No fire twirling without approval
- Drums and buckets will be placed throughout the site with easy access to water, these will be easily identifiable
- Do not smoke in bush areas and please dispose of your butts thoughtfully.
First Aid
First aid facilities are located at the information tent. There will be a qualified person on duty at all times.
Mobile Phones
There is no mobile phone reception on the Festival site. Sorry about that, but think of it as a plus, you will be free to enjoy yourself with no outside interference.
Texting may be possible if you have a Telstra “Blue Tick” phone.
Please Remember
The Forest festival is a no waste site so please respect the beautiful location and take all your rubbish with you. Bins for recycling will be located near the bar at the main stage.
Strictly no BYO, cars may be searched for the safety of Festival patrons.
No Pets, No late night drumming, No glass on site
Food
There will be a variety of food stalls at the festival and a barbeque area set up in the camping ground so you can cook for yourself if you don’t have a camp stove. No open fires will be allowed.
Toilets
Composting toilets are available throughout the festival site. These will be serviced regularly. There are two disabled toilets on site.
