“The History of Tasmanian Rainforests” – Sat & Sun – 3 hour moderate walk – led by John Robin B.Sc.(Hons) Dip Hort. Sc.
“Creatures of the Creeks” – Aquatic Ecology. Sat -Walk along Jackeys Creek and up Tallahassee Creek to identify the impacts of land use on water quality. Children over 8 years welcome. Led by Dr Andrew Hingston (Ecologist).
“Birds & Insects” – Plant sex and pollination ecology – Sun – 3 hour moderate walk – led by Dr Andrew Hingston (Ecologist)
“World Heritage Walk“. An 8 hour walk up the Great Wester Tiers escarpment into the World Heritage Area. Led by Nick Fitzgerald B.Sc.(Hons). Only for the very fit. Walking shoes and warm jacket essential.
“Counting the Carbon in our Forests” New understandings on the role of forests as global carbon stores. Two 4 hr sessions: Sat-theoretical, Sun – practical . Led by Gemma Tillack and Sean Cadman (Ecologists).
“Wild Cave Tour” – Sat & Sun – 4 hours, led by Deb Hunter B.Sc.(Hons) & Tom Porritt. Drive to Caveside from festival so must have own car or arrange car pool.
